Employee Benefit Plan Audits

Employee Benefit Plan Audits

Under Federal law, most employee benefit plans with 100 or more participants must submit audited plan financial statements when filing an annual return/report (commonly called a Form 5500).

A good quality audit helps protect the assets and financial integrity of your employee benefit plan and provide the plan administrator with information to help ensure the necessary funds are available to pay retirement, health, and other promised benefits.

Your Auditor Selection is Important.

It is imperative the plan administrator hire an experienced, qualified, independent certified public accountant to audit their employee benefit plan.

The CPA can identify internal control weaknesses or plan operational errors that may help improve and streamline plan operations and can help you avoid civil penalties for an incomplete, inadequate, or untimely audit report.
