At DZA, we pride ourselves on providing specialized support for non-profit organizations. Today, we’re highlighting Rikki Patch, our non-profit tax partner, who plays a key role in helping these organizations navigate the complexities of IRS filings, compliance, and strategic financial consulting.

Helping Non-Profits Tell Their Story

Rikki’s role focuses on IRS Form 990 preparation, ensuring tax-exempt organizations meet their filing requirements and remain in good standing. “What I enjoy most is building relationships with clients and helping them share the story of their work through their financials,” says Rikki. “It’s incredibly rewarding to support organizations that are making a real impact in their communities.”

With years of experience in the non-profit sector, Rikki brings a deep understanding of the unique challenges these organizations face. She specializes in preparing Form 990s, assisting clients with IRS notices, and offering strategic consulting to ensure compliance with tax-exempt requirements.

A Path Rooted in Service and Community

Rikki’s passion for accounting began in high school when she discovered a love for math. Though she wasn’t initially drawn to tax courses in college, her first job in public accounting gave her invaluable experience in bookkeeping and financial reporting—skills she now uses to help non-profits thrive.

Outside of work, Rikki is committed to her family and community. She and her husband, along with their three daughters, enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking and exploring local trails. Rikki also volunteers for community organizations, including preparing the Form 990 for a local high school booster club on her own time, and participating in DZA’s charity initiatives.

Making an Impact, One Form at a Time

One of the most rewarding moments in Rikki’s career was helping a client obtain or retain their tax-exempt status, ensuring they could continue their important work in the community. “It’s all about helping non-profits focus on their mission while we handle the financial side of things,” she says.
