At DZA, we know that numbers tell a story, especially in healthcare. That’s where Jeannette comes in. With deep expertise in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, she’s one of the sharp minds ensuring our healthcare clients receive every dollar they’re owed. Behind the spreadsheets and cost reports is someone who truly loves helping hospitals stay financially healthy and seeing them thrive.

From Cost Reports to Community Impact
Jeannette specializes in the fast-paced world of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, amendments, and various state-specific filings. Her role demands both detail-oriented precision and a big-picture understanding of healthcare finance.

“These reports don’t just represent numbers, they tell the story of a hospital’s financial health over the course of a year,” Jeannette says. “I love helping hospitals capture every dollar they’re owed; it’s rewarding knowing that my work directly impacts the financial sustainability of the organization and its ability to continue serving the community.”

Whether she’s handling a routine filing or diving into a complex amendment, Jeannette brings structure, logic, and a whole lot of care to everything she does.

A Natural Fit (Even If She Didn’t Dream of It)
Jeannette didn’t grow up dreaming of reconciling accounts, but accounting found her anyway. With a CPA father and an early interest in business, she discovered that she genuinely enjoys solving financial puzzles.

“I’ve realized I really like bringing order to financial chaos,” she says. “It’s less about math and more about logic, structure, and telling a clear story.”

Always Learning, Always Listening
Staying current is critical in healthcare finance, and Jeannette takes that seriously. She regularly attends the HFS and DZA conferences and taps into WSCPA events to stay sharp. Even during her dog walks, she’s queuing up podcasts on firm management and industry trends.

“It’s a great combo—fresh air, a happy pup, and just enough accounting talk to keep me thinking without scaring the neighbors,” she jokes.

Real Life, Real Balance
Originally from Bellingham, WA, Jeannette now calls Spokane home, a move inspired by her husband, Matt, and one she’s never regretted.

“I love that we get a real taste of each season—just enough snow to be fun, not terrifying. Plus, we’re surrounded by nature, and still close enough to great restaurants and Target. It’s the best of both worlds.”

Jeannette’s family includes Matt, their 19-year-old son Charlie and daughter Annie, a high school senior.

With her husband as a Treasury Director with a math degree, and son already eyeing a math and business degree after finishing his first year at Gonzaga, math is definitely a common interest amongst the Ring family. “Our unofficial family motto? ‘There’s always a dull moment around here.’” she jokes.

Outside the Office
In her free time, Jeannette’s favorite place is a sunny dock with a good book and a cold IPA, ideally at the lake. “Reading in the sun counts as a sport, right?”

As she approaches the empty-nester phase, she’s also looking forward to rediscovering hobbies that were paused somewhere between carpools and Costco runs.

She’s long been involved in her community through volunteering at schools, joining DZA-led service events like food bank shifts and river cleanups, and even helping build a Habitat for Humanity house. “A house built by accountants…what could possibly go wrong?” she jokes. “Spoiler: lots of measuring. Very precise measuring.”

Whether she’s fine-tuning a cost report or enjoying a quiet moment on the dock, Jeannette brings thoughtfulness and care to everything she does. Her work may be rooted in numbers, but it’s clear that her motivation comes from something deeper—helping organizations thrive so they can continue doing meaningful work in their communities.
